How to Share Files in Windows 8 - Learn Network Sharing Technique

Like previous Windows (Windows XP, Windows 7, etc.,), you can share files in Windows 8 using network sharing option. Windows 8 has little different look, which make little difficult to find options for network sharing. Below I have shown very simple way to share files using Windows 8.
First Click on Start button, you'll get to Windows 8 icon screen, move you mouse to right corner of the screen which bring out the charm bar. At the bottom of Charm bar you'll see a "Network" icon, click on that button.

You'll get to screen where you'll get "Networks" menu, Find you menu and right click on it. Then click on "Turn sharing on or off".

Click the menu which says " Yes turn on sharing and connect to devices"

Now click on Start button to get back to "Desktop mode" or simply click on Desktop icon.

Now again move your mouse to right corner and you'll see charm bar again, click on "Setting" icon and goto "Control panel". Now look under "Network and Internet" option, you'll see "Choose homegroup and sharing options" click it. Well, Homegourp is a feature that allow file sharing in Windows 7 and Windows 8.

After that, you'll see below picture

Here you'll see many options like what you like to share and you change that setting. If you haven't created any homegroup then, you'll see below picture:

To creat Homegroup, click on "Creat a Homegroup" and set the settings like which files you want to share and much more.

After you created a group, you'll see a option "View or print the homegroup password", just click on this option. You'll see a password at the top of screen and you can write this password to paper or memorise it. Now you have done everything to your pc and now its time to connect with other.
Remember Homegroup network is work only in Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Now, lets assume that another PC is on network and you want to share file with them (like connected by wire or wifi), all you have to do that goto Control Panel and then Under "Network and Sharing" click on Homegroup option, you'll see a listed computer with Homegroup name. Just click on "Join Now".

When you click on "Join Now", you'll prompted to enter the password, now enter the password which you got on Windows 8 pc while creating homegroup and after that you connected to that PC and you can set what you want to share and all done.

Now you can share everything with other PC and Connected PC will be listed on your My Computer window, just below the left corner of the window.

I hope this tutorial help you.
