HTC Edge -The first quad-core phone - Leaked ValuesHT

The device in the image above is the HTC Edge, a 4.7-inch beast that might very well be the first quad-core handset to hit the market. Leaked to PocketNow by a “reliable source”, we’re getting our first look at HTC’s next flagship device, and possibly a new benchmark for processing power in a smartphone.
Taking a lot of cues from the recently announced HTC Rezound, the Edge is expected to feature a 720p display, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel backlit camera (28-millimeter, f/2.2 lens), and an incredibly powerful AP30 Tegra 3 Nvidia CPU (four 1.5GHz cores), which doubles the power of the Rezound. Not much of a surprise, the device will also apparently include Beats by Dre. audio tech, and Bluetooth 4.0. The report notes the device will also likely get 32GB onboard memory.
There is also mention the debut of services such as HTC Listen, HTC Read, HTC Play, and HTC Watch could possibly coincide with the launch of the Edge. Although there isn’t much to go on here and we have to blindly trust their source, PocketNow expects the Edge to arrive in late Q1 or early Q2 2012.
The leak suggests that we could see the Edge in either Q1 or early Q2 of 2012. That could mean January, but it could also be as late as June. Heck, it could even go Droid Bionic on us and not show its face until September.
Whether this will be the first quad-core phone on the market will also depend on what other manufacturers have in store, but it should at least be among the earliest. It looks like the Asus Transformer Prime will be the first quad-core tablet, but this is the first solid info on a phone with Tegra 3 inside.

SONY Ericsson Nozomi Leakes Pictures & Specifications

Over the next few months, dual-core phones with 720p HD displays will be the new standard by which all high-end Android phones will be judged and it looks like SONY Ericsson is already at work on a new phone which will allow them to play with the big boys.  Pictures, specs and benchmarks for the upcoming SONY Ericsson Nozomi (aka SONY Ericsson XPERIA Arc HD) made an appearance on the web this weekend, giving us a close look at what SE’s next generation handsets will look like.
Leaked Images Of Sony Ericsson Nozomi

Specs on the SONY Ericsson Nozomi include a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 pixel display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor (most likely the same Qualcomm S3 chip found in the HTC Rezound), 1GB of RAM, rear and front-facing camera and an LED illuminated menu strip  below the screen which also wraps around the back sides of the phone.

The pictures we’ve been treated to also include Quadrant benchmark numbers. The 1,800 Quadrant score produced by the SONY Ericsson Nozomi isn’t going to impress anyone, but we’d like to remind you that Quadrant is intended for single-core devices and tests the devices 3D capabilities based on its native 1280 x 720 resolution. Performance on the Nozomi should be on par with phones like the HTC Amaze 4G, HTC Vigor and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

The SONY Ericsson Nozomi is currently running on Gingerbread, but we suspect that SE will have Ice Cream Sandwich up and running in time for its debut at CES in two months.  Last year SONY Ericsson was the only OEM to show off a Gingerbread powered phone at CES and we suspect their new focus on Android will drive them to keep pace with the competition.
